Paper Lamp

Material: Paper (From package of eggs) & Cardboard

I collected some egg packaging of different colors, crushed them into pulp and reshaped them to make lamp-shades, using the color and texture of the packaging themselves to create different light and shadow effects. I use a PVC board to press one side to be glossy, and the other side retains the rough texture of the pulp, so that the two sides of the lamp-shade have different touches. When the light is on, the thickness of different positions of the light- shade will have different lighting effects.

Making Processes

First Test

I collected a green egg packaging, crushed them into pulp and reshaped them to make lamp-shades. But it didn't work well. Cause I used printing transparent paper(with a water-soluble coating on the surface) as a bottom, I couldn't release the mold after the pulp was dry.

Second Test

For the second test, I collect some egg packaging with different colours to make the paper pulp to create the texture of lamp-shade.

This time, I used PVC transparent sheet as the base, and only used the PVC sheet on one side of the bottom, leaving the roughness of the pulp itself on the other side, so that the lampshade can have two different touches and textures.
