Yuko Nishikawa

As the idea about to design a system that can allow users to build their own balance sculpture, I did some artist research. Japanese artist Yuko Nishikawa has designed a ceramic table lamp that owner can assemble theirself. The design combines balance into the actual product, allowing the user to assemble and change the number of ceramic balls and wire components to reflect the various changes in the life.

This is also what I wanted to achieve with my design, combining interactivity and balance sculptures, allowing the user to experience the joy of building balance, to build different dynamic balance sculptures to create their own balance depending on their emotions, the space and their preferences.
