Beautifully functional & Functionally beautiful
In David's words, 'They were made to be used, not to be admired for their aesthetic qualities, and we are free to enjoy them in any way we choose.'
When I saw the exhibits in this exhibition, I could not distinguish whether they were useful or not at the first time, but I was attracted by some of the tools with unique shapes, and then I started to guess what their functions were. Compared with some common tools, they are more capable of stimulating curiosity and letting people explore what their functions are. This exhibition made me think, what kind of function is useful? Keeping some mystery for the product and using it in a way that breaks the traditional perception may bring different surprises to people.
